Fantastic apartment for 4 people on the sea in San Vincenzo, in Livorno province (Tuscan coast). It is located in a stately old building subdivided into 4 apartments. The apartment occupies the lower ground floor (6 steps down), so it stays at a pleasant temperature even on the hottest days. The living room has French doors that face a small pocket terrace at the back of the house, which is also where the parking lot is; the bedrooms have high windows.
Outside, there is a private terrace with direct access to the beach, where there is a beach club (with bar and restaurant) as well as a free access beach.
Casa Riva guests have use of an umbrella and two sun loungers at the beach club below: this service is free of charge, but only available when the beach club is open (the season usually runs from the beginning of June to the end of September). The town of San Vincenzo offers shops of all kinds and excellent restaurants just steps away from the apartment, and there is a supermarket 150 meters away. In the area there are important places of interest to visit such as Bolgheri, Castagneto Carducci, Monteverdi Marittimo, and the Gulf of Baratti. Ancient building comprising 4 apartments (one is occupied by the property owners) situated in the historical centre of the medieval town of Certaldo Alto. All of the 3 units have been recently restored and offer nicely furnished and cozy interiors. At their arrival, guests staying at Certaldo will be given a permission allowing them to drive to their apartment and make use of a parking situated in an internal courtyard near the apartments. During the month of July (approx. 10 days) there is a very nice “festival” (“named Mercantia”) taking place in the historical centre of Certaldo Alto (the oldest part of the town), where local artists and artisans show their works until late at the night. During this period of the year the access to the internal courtyard for parking is not possible.
Distances: the centre of Certaldo Basso with all kind of shops and train station (with trains to Florence and Siena) 500 m away (the town is also accessible by a funicular leaving every 15 minutes - duration of the trip 1 minute), Florence 40 km away, Siena 35 km, the renowned town of San Gimignano 9 km away, Volterra 50 km, Pisa 55 km.
At guests disposal: guests have access to a beautiful tower (common room) overlooking the roofs of the ancient town and offering splendid panoramic views over the surrounding landscape and San Gimignano in the distance.
