Property Description

Characteristic property located inside a large, famous archeological area in northern Lazio near the border of Tuscany. In ancient times the area was inhabited by the Etruscans, then the Romans: the Tumolo della Cuccumella, numerous necropolises spread throughout the territory, the Ponte dell'Arcobaleno and Badia Castle are some of the magnificent works that have been preserved there.
Badia Castle (dating back to the 12th century) was built by Cisterican monks next to the Ponte dell'Arcobaleno, a bridge built by the Romans on preexisting Etruscan foundations. The bridge crosses over a gorge created by the Fiora river, which today divides the Canino and Montalto di Castro territories.
The house is inside an archeological reserve, and within a radius of a few hundred meters it is possible to admire scenery, buildings and ruins from the past.
The property is completely fenced in and offers a characteristic pool made from a restored ancient cistern. The house is simply furnished in rustic style. Outdoors, guests can take advantage of areas equipped with table and chairs for dining outside.
Accesss to the house is via a short section of unpaved road in good condition.

At guests' disposal: large, completely enclosed garden (10.000 m2) with pool reserved for guests' exclusive use (8 x 3 m - depth 1,7 m - open from 01/06 to 30/09). The pool was created from a restored ancient cistern. Guests also have the use of a pretty outdoor portico furnished with table and chairs. The Fiora river runs near the property, creating canyons and lakes. It is possible to swim in Lake Pellicone, 1500 meters from the house.
