The La Valle complex is comprised of seven comfortable apartments situated just a kilometre from the town of Montaione and roughly 45 kilometres from Florence. Each apartment has its own private and furnished outdoor area, perfect for dining alfresco. Description
In 1996 we moved to the Crete Senesi and we fell in love with this farmhouse Etruscan origins, medieval mill, peace and tranquillity. That’s why we decided to share it with our guests and their four-legged friends.
The farm keeps the whole family busy: Alessandro (biologist, nature guide and Sommelier), Elisa who looks after the administration, Mauro and Paola, retired but full time busy on the farm. And we hope that in the future even Emma and Guido will give us a helping hand.
We produce vegetables and fruit, olive oil and truffles from organic agriculture.
For our guests we organize a rich programme of initiatives discovering the colours and flavours of the Crete, wine tasting in our cosy winery and excursions by bike guided by Alessandro who is fond of cycling.

Description
Ancient building comprising 4 apartments (one is occupied by the property owners) situated in the historical centre of the medieval town of Certaldo Alto. All of the 3 units have been recently restored and offer nicely furnished and cozy interiors. At their arrival, guests staying at Certaldo will be given a permission allowing them to drive to their apartment and make use of a parking situated in an internal courtyard near the apartments. During the month of July (approx. 10 days) there is a very nice “festival” (“named Mercantia”) taking place in the historical centre of Certaldo Alto (the oldest part of the town), where local artists and artisans show their works until late at the night. During this period of the year the access to the internal courtyard for parking is not possible.
Distances: the centre of Certaldo Basso with all kind of shops and train station (with trains to Florence and Siena) 500 m away (the town is also accessible by a funicular leaving every 15 minutes - duration of the trip 1 minute), Florence 40 km away, Siena 35 km, the renowned town of San Gimignano 9 km away, Volterra 50 km, Pisa 55 km.
At guests disposal: guests have access to a beautiful tower (common room) overlooking the roofs of the ancient town and offering splendid panoramic views over the surrounding landscape and San Gimignano in the distance. This tower is furnished with tables and chairs and in summer it also provides sun-beds. Wi-fi internet access (free of charge). All of the apartments provide mosquito nets and fans in the bedrooms.

If you decide to spend your holiday at Villa Leopoldina, you can stay in a historic building, a splendid example of a typical Tuscan house designed in the 18th century by the architects of Grand Duke Leopold of Lorraine, with the characteristic four overlapping arches on the façade. It will be a plunge into the past, when families were very numerous and these huge homes housed several generations under the same roof.
In front of the villa you will find the private garden and on the right-hand side the beautiful swimming pool (size 12x5 m, depth 1.40 m, completely enclosed - open from 01st May to 30th September). From here, every day, you can enjoy a splendid panoramic view over the city of Arezzo and its valleys, a view that becomes even more suggestive at night with the thousands of tiny lights that seem to chase each other. You will reach the centre of Arezzo in less than 10 minutes by car and here you will find all the necessary amenities and services, as well as museums, magnificent churches, cathedrals and monuments to visit.
One of the villa's bonuses is certainly its location. It is located within the Pomaio winery, a renowned winery that produces its excellent wines following the rules of eco-sustainability. Pomaio is listed as one of the 13 most beautiful Design Cellars in the Region of Tuscany for the Toscana Wine Architecture project, and this 'Green' philosophy was also followed for the renovation of the villa. In fact, thanks to the materials used, the villa has a high energy-saving rating, with positive effects both for the environment and for those who stay there in all seasons.
Therefore, in addition to living in the midst of an almost enchanted place, amidst splendid rows of vines that slope down towards the silhouette of the city, you will be able to taste the excellent wines in the wine cellar when you feel like taking a little walk and reaching it.

You will have two fully equipped kitchens, a washing machine and a dryer on each floor, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and satellite TV. It is an old farmhouse that has been renovated following all of today's eco-sustainability standards, which are similarly applied to the entire estate, which produces and exports excellent Tuscan IGT and DOCG wines. Podere Pomaio's Bio-architecture winery is listed among the 14 most beautiful Design Cellars in Tuscany for the Toscana Wine Architecture project.
