An area called Alto Metauro in the region of Le Marche is especially famous for its food and wine products. Enjoy tasting the local organic ‘Millefiori’ or ‘Spring flowers’ honey and feel the oily texture of the a resin taken from bee hives called propolis. Many restaurants and bars in the area can serve you a type of local mead, a sweet honey liquor that will delight your taste buds!

The cheeses you can taste here are among the finest in Italy! Some of the local favourites are a pecorino cheese stuffed with red peppers in oil, fresh soft white cheese and ricotta. Learn how to bake bread the old fashioned way and later put on some protective clothing to go out and see the beehive where delicious honey of the region is produced.

Visitors can make their own candles from the leftover wax of the hives and colour them with natural dyes of the area.They also host a nature trail of about one and a half kilometres, where the visitor can learn all about the flora, trees and animals of the area. They can milk the cows and goats and learn about the cheese making process. This mesmerizing place is a wonderful way for the tourist to immerse themselves in the culture of the beautiful Alto Metauro.
