The Via Dell'Amore is the most famous walk in the beautiful Cinque Terre area – a string of five centuries-old seaside villages on the rugged Italian Riviera coastline, which is linked by the Sentiero Azzurro cliffside hiking trail.

This stretch is the easiest section of the Sentiero Azzurro (Blue Trail) which takes walkers from Riomaggiore to Monterosso and is known for being particularly romantic and offering especially beautiful views across the ocean and surrounding landscape.

In the high season it can be incredibly busy and the ambience can be completely ruined but if you time it right and catch the walk at a peaceful time of year and the right time of the day, you will find few spots that are as spectacularly romantic around the world. Just find a holiday rental in Liguria, explore the stunning region and stop by the Via Dell'Amore with a special someone for a stroll.

We don't know about you but here at Easy Reserve we like to avoid the crazy tourist crowds, long lines and madness as best we can when we're on holidays. As such, we're always on the hunt for attractions that are just off the beaten track, sights that are special and a little less well-known, and adventure. In cities like Rome, for example, there are many world-famous attractions that draw people from far and wide. While some of them might be personal musts, there is a lot more to the city beyond those postcard moments.

In fact, right in the central district of Piazza Vittorio, inside the park, the remains of an old villa reveal the Porta Alchemica, the “Alchemist Door” that locals often call the “Magic Door.” This portal is famous among locals and steeped in legend but most tourists never see it and walk right on by.

Find a vacation rental in Rome and discover this hidden gem for yourself!

The Renaissance gave birth to an endless list of extraordinary artworks, architectural gems and feats of ingenuity. In things such as garden design, in particular, some incredibly beautiful creations came to light in this period, one of which is the Villa Demidoff and its gardens. Located about seven miles north of Florence, the gardens are home to many different sculptures, fountains and various other delights but one of the highlights has to be the Appennine Colossus. Measuring about 35 feet tall, the Colossus is a personification of the Apennine mountain ranges, and is depicted as a blend between mountain and man, its smooth skin emerging out of the surrounding mountainous setting. This immense sculpture by the great Giambologna is actually even more fascinating than it appears at first glance; it is also a building, with chambers hidden inside, and a water feature. For lovers of the Renaissance, those interested in art and people intrigued by secret passageways and buildings, it is definitely a must-see. Just find a luxury villa in Florence and make time to visit the gardens of Villa Demidoff to go in search of this exceptional gem.
A fumarole at the Fields; painting by Michael Wutky

The Phlegraean Fields or Campi Flegrei is an area that encompasses land all along the west of Naples, by the bay. The name means “burning fields” and comes from the fact that the area often smokes and sizzles in a remarkably dramatic and hellish way. This area is volcanic in nature and, while none are technically active, there is plenty of seismic activity in the area and it has been hugely affected by its volcanic history.

Vesuvius may be the only active volcano in continental Europe but the Phlegraean Fields' Solfatara is a good place to see some of the effects of volcanism up close. Here you can actually go inside the crater and see its fumaroles (steam vents), boiling mud and ground that's hot to the touch. Solfatara is, in fact, just one of the extraordinary sights that the Phlegraean Fields has to offer and really has to be seen to believe. If you feel like getting in touch with Dante on your next trip to Italy, just find a holiday rental in Campania and see what the Inferno might just look like.
