Mergozzo is a pretty town situated on the shores of Lake Mergozzo in Piedmont. This quaint little settlement was given the grand Orange Flag award for its beautiful brightly coloured houses, built in traditional local architectural styles, its rich history and culture, and of course its warm tourist welcome.

Genga got its name from being the ancestral home of the famous noble della Genga family. This ancient dynasty produced many influential figures throughout the centuries, the best known being Pope Leo XII.
