Liguria is a very scenic region of North West Italy that is bordered by France to the west, Piedmont to the north, Emilia Romagna and Tuscany to the East and a small section to the sea. Steep cliffs line the coastline as well as some gorgeous little fishing towns like Portovenere and Sanremo tucked into crevices along it. There are four provinces in Liguria; Imperia, Savona, Genoa and La Spezia.

The capital city is Genoa which is home to the busiest seaport in Italy! Tourists would thoroughly enjoy a day or two of walking around this UNESCO World Heritage Site that was home to the famous explorer, Christopher Columbus! Take a day trip around the famous five seaside towns also known as Cinque Terre that earned themselves a collective World Heritage Site status! The five villages are called Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore and are most certainly worth a visit for an enriching tourist experience.
