Dating back to the 12th century and restored in the 17th century by the noble family of Acciaioli, the Castle has a magnificent tower built on the model of the one of Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.
Montegufoni Castle is part of a large estate comprising vineyards and olive trees and is surrounded by the beautiful Chianti landscape. In the castle there are 39 apartments and a large garden with a nice swimming pool: the perfect spot to relax and have fun with your family and friends.
The Chianti Region is one of the most renowned charming area in Italy for its cultural, historical and enogastronomic traditions. This luxurious Castle offers to our guests incredible holiday experiences (on request) such as cooking lessons, event location, guided tours and more!
Distances from the villa: the small village of Montagnana V.P. with food shops 1 km, Montespertoli with all kinds of shops approx. 5 km, Florence 20 km, Pisa approx. 70 km.
A bus stop with busses to Florence is only a few meters from the castle away. Bikes and scooters for rent are available in Montespertoli.
At guests’ disposal: large and very charming terraced park furnished with garden furniture and table tennis, beautiful Italian gardens (dating back to the 18th century) with lemon trees and swimming-pool (12 x 6 m - open from 01/04 to 31/10). Reception open from 9.00 to 12.30 and from 14.30 to 18.30. The outbuildings of the castle as well were restored and turned into charming apartments. The castle is run by the Posarelli family. A nice restaurant offering nice recipes of the local Chianti tradition is open every night (from April to October except on Tuesdays). Laundry with shared washing-machine (€ 4,- / per washing). Villa Bastiano is an amazing ancient property built back on 1400, completely restored by keeping the original external walls. Located in Monsummano Alto, an old hamlet just above Monsumano Terme, on a top of a hill dominating the surrounding valley, the hamlet was protected by the ancient walls which still remain part of them, here we can find the ancient tower and the beautiful church of San Niccolao, being 34o meters above the sea level it offers an amazing view of the valley below with Val di Nievole and other provinces of Tuscany.
Half way between Lucca and Florence, perfect starting point for a day trips, guest can easily reach the Tuscan coast in less than one hour, and with one hour and half can be in the Cinque Terre as well!
The villa’s private garden gives to its guest different angles of true paradise where to relax and enjoy amazing views. A paved area with a gazebo equipped with table and iron chairs is the perfect spot for al fresco dinners. There is also a private pool, (above ground), and a solarium with a Jacuzzi hot tab both equipped with umbrellas and sun lounges.
The villa on its inside is equipped with modern style furniture, perfectly mixed with the ancients of the property in order to offer its guest the maximum of comfort. It develops in two floors, at the ground there is a living area with armchairs and sofas, dining area with a wooden table and chair, fully equipped kitchen which has direct access to the garden.
On the first floor there are the 5 bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms with shower, one of the bedrooms is connected to a small room with two extra single beds.
