Here you can relax in scenic surroundings and easily explore all that this exquisite region of Italy has to offer!
Basilica Aquileia
Today this area is a vast archaeological site with much of the city ruins still remaining uncovered beneath the earth. One of the most fascinating buildings excavated here is the patriarchal basilica. This incredible ornate building has an almost perfectly preserved mosaic pavement within its grounds for tourists to gaze upon and learn more about.

This basilica was one of the cornerstone pillars in spreading Christianity throughout much of central Europe during the Middle Ages. This UNESCO World Heritage Site earned this award because it is by far the best preserved example of an early Roman city and because its patriarchal basilica was such a vital beacon in spreading the word of Christ to the masses.
Aquileia Sepolcreto
Founded in 181BC, Aquileia quickly became a major trading route through Europe. Its wealth grew enormously in a short amount of time. During their interesting visit to this mesmerising site of intense history, tourists will be able to see authentic remains of Roman baths, the foundations of luxury villas, an amphitheatre and even a cemetery!

A day trip to this archaeological site and basilica would truly enrich a wonderfully cultural and historical trail through this magnificent country so why not make your plans to visit Friuli Venezia Giulia the next time you’re here and see it all for yourself!
