Villa Belvedere di Vinci (Vinci FI): Built in the 19th century, this villa stands on the slopes of Montalbano about 2 km from the town. Not to be missed in Vinci itself are the artists birthplace and the musem devoted to his works situated in the Mediaeval centre. The villa provides an excellent starting point for easy excursions to the art cities of Florence and Lucca (both about 45 km away) as well as to smaller local centres such as San Miniato (15 km) or the famous spa town of Montecatini Terme (20 km). The villa, which belongs to an estate producing wine and olive oil, stands in a dominant position offering surperb panoramic view over the surrounding hills. Guests also enjoy the use of a well-kept garden with a private swimming pool and various fully equipped areas. The furnishings include certain antique nineteenth century pieces alongside modern accessories such as satellite TV and dishwasher. The owners, who live in a separate annexe with independent entrance, are at guests constant disposal. On request, it is possible to organise dinners and extra cleaning. Villa "Belvedere di Vinci". Acquacotta is a traditional dish originating in the coastal region of Tuscany known as Maremma. Literally translated the name means “cooked water” and accurately represents its origins as a peasant dish. It is an old and historic dish that comes from the colliers, or charcoal burners, farmers and shepherds of the area, who were the poorest of people. Despite such humble origins, like many other dishes that were once peasant foods, it remains enduringly popular to this day.

Montelupo Fiorentino is a pretty village, located just on the outskirts of Florence, that has been an important centre for handmade ceramics in Tuscany since the Middle Ages. Montelupo ceramics were traded and dispensed all across Europe and quickly became synonymous with quality and beautiful craftsmanship. Today, it is home to plenty of workshops still producing the pieces and a museum dedicated to the craft, the Museum of Ceramics in Montelupo.
