Announced in 2000 by Pope John Paul II at the end of the Great Jubilee, this year will see special pilgrimages, prayers, pardons, and events take place at the Vatican. As a result, the Vatican has estimated that some 35 million pilgrims will come to the city for the Jubilee Year of Hope.
