The central region of Abruzzo is an unruly mountainous land full of adventure and excitement! It borders Le Marche, Latium, Molise and has a coastline facing the Adriatic Sea.

This beautiful place is made up of four provinces; Chieti, L’Aquila, Pescara and Teramo that are home to some of the finest and best preserved medieval towns in the country!

Some of the nicest ones to visit are Castel del Monte and Santo Stefano di Sessanio which are located in Gran Sasso National Park at the foothills of the Apennines. L’Aquila is the name of the region’s capital and offers lots of cultural activities for the tourist to do. There are two climates here; warm and sunny near the coastline and cold and rainy as you travel further inland up the mountains because incoming warm air is forced to rise up and form dark clouds, which then produces rain!
