We have have been talking about Veneto all this week, which is a rather unsung hero when it comes to holiday destinations in Italy. Everyone, of course, knows Venice and Veneto and there are famous skiing areas in the region, too, but the wider region has been left relatively untouched by tourism.
Don't be deceived, however, as this is not because of a lack of things to see or do or of beauty. In fact, it is the exact opposite. Plus, some of our most extraordinary vacation rentals are located in Veneto.
If you are looking for an excellent holiday rental in Veneto, you well and truly have come to the right place.
We've been talking about some of our favourite properties in previous posts and here is another of the amazing examples you can find on our site...

3. San Giovanni
This historic gem is probably our most striking period property. Located in the centre of Torcello, a small island and lovely lagoon town that is in the area surrounding Venice and was a precursor to that more famous city. It is the only villa on the island and was built towards the end of the 17th century, taking its name from the Romanesque church of San Giovanni. In fact, some of the building's ruins have been restored and can still be admired in the enormous garden that surrounds the villa.
A typical but rather romantic house of the Veneto, is perched right on the water at Torcello and features rich, elegant interiors that seem truly untouched and uncompromised by time. Boasting a private pool, the property sleeps up to 12 in 6 bedrooms and is available from €1141 per night, a price that reflects its luxurious finish and incredibly well-preserved state that will make all of your period drama fantasies come to life.
