Verona is a very famous Italian city and UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site best known for its connection to Shakespeare's most tragic of lovers. However, come Christmas, it gets a German makeover when a large Christkindlmarkt opens in Piazza dei Signori. Made up of wooden stalls with over 60 exhibitors selling handicrafts, decorations, regional foods, and German specialties, it usually opens late November through to December 21st.

Ca' Rezzonico: A Stunning Tribute To 18th Century Venice

Ca' Rezzonico, is a Venetian palace designed by Baldassare Longhena and located in the Dorsoduro district. It is one of the grandest of the palaces on the Grand Canal. A seventeenth and eighteenth century building, it is owned by the City of Venice and is home to the Museo del Settecento Veneziano (Museum of Eighteenth-Century Venice), which is understandable, as it is a truly stunning example from the period.

Filled with collections of period architecture and art, boasting ceilings frescoed by Tiepolo, the last home of poet Robert Browning and a one-time home to the studio of painter John Singer Sargent, it is a multi-faceted and fascinating space that has a long history and lots to offer. Venice is famously lovely and infamously delicate. Despite this, Venice continues to fight back and live on and protect their city by all sorts of measures, including a new fee and booking system to enter the city that will be introduced later this year.

Should you wish to plan a vacation in Venice and pay a visit, you will potentially take in some uniquely Venetian sights caused by its unusual structure and origins, such as half-flooded bookshops still going about business as per usual and tourists sipping cups of coffee while their legs are encased in protective plastic boots and are lapped by water. The Stunning Ca' D'Oro In Venice

The Ca' d'Oro is one of the most famous and most beautiful palaces in Venice and certainly a highlight within the city. It is the most celebrated palazzo on the Grand Canal and an excellent example of Venetian Gothic architecture. Ca' is short for “casa”, meaning house, and all of the great homes of the city were once called this as, in the past, the word “palazzo” was reserved for the Ducal Palace alone.

“D'Oro”, meanwhile, means “golden” and the palace was so named as it once had, and became famous for having, an incredible gilded facade. While said gilded facade is, sadly, no longer intact, the building remains a famous tourist attraction and one of the most celebrated of all palaces in the city, and for good reason.
