The Fattoria del Toce is a farm with an agricultural park that is dedicated to education and knowledge. Officially recognised and supported by the governing bodies of the Piedmont region, the farm was founded in 2002 and introduces visitors to local plant varieties such as camellias, azaleas and rhododendrons, as well as trees like maples and ancient olive trees, and, of course, some adorable farm animals such as the 43 different breeds of rabbits, various breeds of poultry and some endangered creatures, too. Popular throughout the year for families, schools and tourists, it is especially wonderful over the Christmas period and is a wonderful place to spend a day if you and your family have found a vacation rental in Piedmont and are looking for some festive fun!
“Villaggio di Natale in Fattoria”, or Christmas Village at the Farm, opened on the 24th of November and will continue until the 23rd of December 2018, at Fattoria del Toce, in Verbania, on Lake Maggiore.
The event sees the 15,000 square metre farm and park take on a distinctively festive note and invites you to meet the animals, view the live crib, play old-fashioned games, and learn about the farm, and for kids to ride ponies and attend workshops for bread-making, candle-making and bow-making.
Once you and the gang are tired from playing around, head inside for delicious food and some hot beverages to warm yourself up! With something for all the family, it's a fun and cute day out in this beautiful part of Italy.
