In our final post in this series of our picks of our favourite vacation rentals with incredible views in Italy, here are two of the best of the best; one property with amazing views onto the bustling and historic streets of Rome from the very centre and one with canal views in Veneto that will make you feel as though you have stepped back in time.
9. Roma
This elegant 2nd floor apartment that has been recently renovated, is located right in the old city centre of Rome, near Vatican City. Compact but spacious, it is a comfortable and tastefully decorated apartment, largely executed in neutral tones of cream and white, that makes for a lovely and restful place to come home to at the end of a long day of sight-seeing. Perfectly located, it is just a short distance from the Vatican Museums, Castel San'Angelo and renowned Via Cola di Rienzo (for a spot of shopping).

Overlooking the pretty streets of this historic part of the city, it has the type of typical views that one dreams of when planning a holiday in the city. The apartment has one bedroom, sleeps up to four and is available from €117 per night.
10. San Giovanni
San Giovanni, meanwhile, is probably our most striking historic property and boasts quite the view, to boot. It is a typical house of the Veneto and is perched right on the water at Torcello, a lovely lagoon town that was a precursor of Venice but later abandoned in favour of that more famous city. If you were thinking of doing Venice and doing it in style but want all of the character and charm without the city crowds, this is an excellent option. Built towards the end of the seventeenth century, it features rich, elegant interiors and is surrounded by an enormous garden with a private pool.
