As we mentioned in the last post, Milan is one of the big fashion capitals of the world and still produces trends, collections and pieces that are adored, bought and imitated all over the globe. This season, in particular, it seemed as if all eyes were on the city. If you have always wanted to find a vacation rental in Milan and take in the fashion atmosphere for yourself, here are some more of this season's most exciting collections that will be ready for you to browse when if you touch down in the city for Spring/Summer 2018.
3. Prada
How could we not mention Prada? It is one of the oldest, biggest, most famous of all Italian fashion brands and is constantly a trend leader. Of this season's collection Miuccia Prada had this to say: “You could say it was masculine but I don’t want to say that. Whenever men describe a strong woman they say that.” Imbued with her recent discovery of, and love for, comic books, the collection, there were illustrated motifs throughout, some very Blade Runner sunglasses, traditional men's tailoring with traditionally feminine prints and silhouettes over top and plenty of strong shoulders. It was a collection about empowering and raising up women but it was also just cool.
4. Max Mara
SS18 at Max Mara was a parade of their distinct camel hues, followed by a denim section, then a white segment, then florals, purple, grey and black. It was also rather distinctly sexy with lots of sheer fabrics and body-hugging silhouettes. Most of all, however, it was sleek and in keeping with the brand and as much as I love the curated maximalism that predominated at Milan, it was a nice palette-cleanser and a relief. While it might be different to much of the other collections this season in spirit, those eighties power suits are still present and a tailored, pulled-together look still seems to be the look du jour for next season. Like at Prada, we are being given some powerful look for powerful women.
