Have you ever tasted Prosecco, a delicious sparkling white wine from Italy? Prosecco has grown massively in popularity in recent decades to become a staple celebratory drink along with its French and Spanish counterparts; Champagne and Cava.

Choose from a delightful array of villas in Veneto where you could easily drive to visit the Prosecco producing district.

Like Champagne, Prosecco sparkling wine can only be called so if it's produced following a strict process from a grape called Glera or ‘Prosecco’ and grown in the regions of Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia in the hills north of Treviso.

To taste the most famous Prosecco produced in Italy, you must source it from a small Prosecco region north of Treviso between Valdobbiadene and Santo Stefano. It’s called ‘Cartizze’ and buying a gift of it could add some extra sparkle to a romantic getaway here with your partner!

The grape called Prosecco was named after an ancient village in this area which would be a charming experience to stroll around for an hour or two.

Some vineyards in this Prosecco making region are open to visitors who can learn all about the sparkling wine making process as well as tasting some varieties of this delicious alcoholic drink.

Other versions of the DOCG and DOC Prosecco are Prosecco Spumante and Gran Cuveé which are sparkling wines blended with Prosecco and other grape varieties, and Prosecco Tranquillo which is a still white wine made from the Prosecco grape.
