In 1996 we moved to the Crete Senesi and we fell in love with this farmhouse Etruscan origins, medieval mill, peace and tranquillity. That’s why we decided to share it with our guests and their four-legged friends.
The farm keeps the whole family busy: Alessandro (biologist, nature guide and Sommelier), Elisa who looks after the administration, Mauro and Paola, retired but full time busy on the farm. And we hope that in the future even Emma and Guido will give us a helping hand.
We produce vegetables and fruit, olive oil and truffles from organic agriculture.
For our guests we organize a rich programme of initiatives discovering the colours and flavours of the Crete, wine tasting in our cosy winery and excursions by bike guided by Alessandro who is fond of cycling.

La Gabola is a beautiful farmhouse consisting of an old farmhouse where the owner lives and four independent small houses for guests. Please note that the internal staircase leading to the 2 bedrooms on the first floor has no railing, therefore children up to 12 years of age must be constantly supervised. Air conditioning is available in the living area and in the upstairs bedrooms, ensuring a cool and comfortable stay during the summer months, and is included in the rental price. Heating is metered and billed according to consumption. Final cleaning is included in the rental price. A refundable security deposit of 300,00 euros is required upon arrival and will be returned before departure, less any charge in case of damage. Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out is by 9:30. Late check-in after 6:00 PM until 11:00 PM is available upon request, and check-in later than 11:00 PM must be organized in advance and may require additional fees. Beautiful, recently restored villa situated on a hill top overlooking the city of Arezzo and the Chiana valley. This property is entirely fenced in and comprises the owners’ house and a charming small church dating back to the 7th century. Outside guests can enjoy use of a large, well-groomed garden with a beautiful, private swimming-pool set in panoramic location. The villa was divided into 4 apartments which are connected internally and are rentable only together as a private accommodation. The interiors are welcoming and tastefully furnished. On the ground floor there is a large, furnished portico ideal for al-fresco dining.
A railway line runs in the bottom of the valley. Easy train connections to Florence and Rome are available from the city of Arezzo.
The access to the property is via an unpaved but well-maintained road.
