Arezzo
Arezzo is, of course, probably well familiar to those who love holidays in Tuscany but may be a less immediately recognisable name for many. One of the region's beautifully preserved cities with a magic historic core that often appears relatively untouched by time, it is a place where history and culture are alive and well. Find a villa with pool in Arezzo and explore her Medieval streets and architectural gems, Roman ruins, and Renaissance fortress; attend the annual Giostra del Saracino, which sees the town decorated with Medieval banners, flooded with people in costumes from the Middle Ages, and recreations of jousting matches take place; visit her amazing art, history, and jewellery museums; seek out filming locations from Roberto Benigni's beloved 1997 Oscar-winning masterpiece, “La Vita è Bella;” and, if you come around Christmastime, then be sure to wander the incredible Christmas market that takes over the centre of the city each year.
