Beautiful, historic villa dating back to the 16th century turned into a fine country house situated on the hills of Florence amidst woods and cultivated fields. This property is on a hill top and was originally built for defensive purposes.
In the basement of the villa there is an ancient oil mill and the former cellars of the property once used for storing the wine and olive oil produced from the surrounding land.
This property is in quiet, isolated and panoramic location and it is approx. 35 away from Florence (accessible by train from the nearby station of Rufina, at 8 km).
The villa is very spacious and provides fine, elegant interiors furnished with antiques. Outside, there is a large, 5000-square-meter garden, an ancient chapel, a nice pool and an outbuilding with sauna and small gym (weight bench, treadmill).
The access to the property is via a steep, country road (only a small part of 50 meters is unpaved).
Distances: Londa with shops of all kinds 5 km away, Rufina (railway station with daily connections to Florence) 8 km, Florence 35 km away, the Chianti villages (Greve, Castellina, Radda, Gaiole etc…) are within 50 – 80 km, Arezzo 80 km away, San Gimignano 80 km, Siena 100 km away.
At guests’ disposal: large 5000-square-meter garden, private swimming-pool (circa 12 x 6 m – min. depth 1,4 m – max depth 2,4 m – open from 01/05 through 30/09), outbuilding (accessible from the pool area) with changing room, sauna and small gym (weight bench, treadmill). Laundry in the villa basement (washing-machine and dryer) .

One of the most amazing weeks that I can remember. The villa is the perfect place if you want to relax for a week and not have a care in the world. The interior is stunning and makes you feel like you have been whisked away into another time, whilst the views are simply breathtaking. The photos honestly do not show how incredible the views are.
We only had two slight issues, one being the wifi was very temperamental (if you need to work) and also communicating with Antonio (the grounds keeper) as he does not speak any English. However neither of these stop us from having an amazing week.Would you recommend this property to a friend? Yes
Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Villa Londa. The views, the villa and the amenities were all great. It is a long and winded road up to get to it, but it's completely worth it. The grounds keeper, however, was rude which takes away from the experience in the few interactions you have with him.

Home is exactly as seen on the pictures. Its good to note that it is very basic and rustic in its decorations and amenities, especially the bathrooms. Amenities such as showers, toilets, kitchen supplies, towels, etc.. should be improved but they were functional. The house is in a remote location, 13 minutes up a road by car in a mountain, so having a car is a requirement. The views are beautiful and the grounds are well kept. Overall, good house for a large group.
