Castello Sonnino, or Castello di Montespertoli, is a stunning castle on a wine estate next to a village called Montespertoli in the Chianti region of Tuscany, 20km south of Florence. Dating back as far as the 13th century, this 150 hectare estate has been the home of the de Renzis Sonnino family since the beginning of the nineteenth century. The arrival of Baron Alessandro and Baroness Caterina de Renzis Sonnino, with their children Virginia and Leone, in 1987, saw the estate transformed into the well-oiled machine that it is today and their conservative renovation work and “commitment to the protection of the historic-cultural heritage and the revival of the winegrowing activity” have made Castello Sonnino one of the most highly regarded wine producers in Florentine Chianti.

Property Description
Large stone villa in the Tuscan countryside in Lucardo, on the edge of Chianti. Furnished in characteristic rustic country style, the villa offers all amenities and is perfect for a family or group of friends.
Outside, the house is surrounded by a large garden with a beautiful pool and a barbecue area. The garden offers a splendid, panoramic view of the surrounding nature and countryside.
The owners live in an adjacent unit, and are always available to provide any help guests may need, as well as excellent recommendations for a smooth Chianti holiday. They have a separate entrance to their unit and do not share any of the guests’ outdoor spaces.
The property’s location is excellent for visiting the main cities and areas of Chianti and Tuscany, such as San Gimignano, Castelfiorentino, Florence, Siena, Lucca and the Tuscan coast.
At guests’ disposal: 5 bedrooms, all with air conditioning; large, well-tended garden that is completely enclosed; above-ground pool (9 x 4 m; depth: 1,2 m) for guests’ exclusive use; panoramic views; free WIFI internet; parking within the grounds; portico with panoramic views for dining outside; portable barbecue and wood-burning oven.

It was a beautiful vacation Trip for all of us, there were just a few things with the equipment of the house and garden. For example, almost all of the garden chairs were broken.
Other than that, it was a beautiful and quiet property in an intimate environment. The owners are very welcoming and always helpful. Would definitely recommend this Villa for 5-7 People. Maybe a bit small for 8+ People.Would you recommend this property to a friend? Yes
