Comfortable property located in Tuscany near the Umbian border. A super location from which to visit both regions.
A large garden and a private swimming pool are available to guests, along with a comfortable outdoor area complete with table, chairs and a barbecue.
The property is made up of 3 rental units which are rented together as one rental (the units are not internally linked but distant from one another just by a few meters) and the apartment of the owners, kind and welcoming and available for advice or if required.
The guests can enjoy a communal area together (la Taverna) where there is a kitchen and the space to seat a large group for meals.
In the near-by town of Monterchi there is a nice museum dedicated to the history of the area and one of the most famous paintings of Piero della Francesca (15th century): la Madonna del Parto.
Within the surrounding area Arezzo, Anghiari, Castiglion Fiorentino, Cortona and Gubbio all deserve a visit.

3. Podere Il Doccio

Podere Il Doccio is a beautiful property that is comprised of four private units. Located in the Arno Valley, 9 km from Terranuova Bracciolini, it is a lovely and peaceful place. Arezzo, Greve In Chianti, Florence, Siena and Montepulciano are all close enough for day trips but the property itself is so quiet and pleasant that you might never want to leave.

Città di Castello is an ancient town in the Tiber Valley that is still largely surrounded by town walls dating back to the 16th century. It has a long history of being attacked, destroyed, rebuilt and being passed from ruler to to ruler.

Yet, despite this, it is still a historic and pretty town where many stunning buildings have been preserved such as the Palace of the Podestà, with its baroque facade dating back to 1686; the Town Hall, built in the Gothic style with an elegant portal and windows with two lights; the Gothic Cathedral, built on the site of a Roman temple; and St. Mary Maggiore, dating back to the Gothic era but adorned by a Renaissance facade.

The Municipal Pinacoteque, meanwhile, is home to works of art by Raphael, Signorelli and Domenico Ghirlandaio, as well as many other works by artists of the Umbrian, Tuscan and Marche schools.

5. Il Poggio

Il Poggio is a beautiful property made up of five apartments, all of which can be rented separately or together, that boasts a pool that ticks every possible box. Located in Pari, in the Grosseto-Maremma tourist area, it is perfect high in the hills with truly incredible views over the surrounding area. The pool is located in the most panoramic position in a paved area with plenty of sun loungers and two covered areas.

In fact, due to a particularly rich period in the 20th century when Italy produced, arguably, many of the best movies ever made, it is a perfect destination for serious cinephiles the world over.
