If you have decided on a vacation in Italy, you might be weighing up your options when it comes to accommodation: Is a villa better than a hotel? Why might you choose to book a villa in Italy instead? Well, of course we’re a little bit biased but we think that there are plenty of great reasons to book a holiday rental in Italy…

Authentic Experiences
Our villas in Italy are largely owned by Italians and decorated according to local tastes and traditions. Many are historic homes or converted buildings that have unique and charming traits that you’re unlikely to find in a property anywhere else in the world. Some are set within the grounds of working farms or on vineyards and many afford astounding views of incredible landscapes. Even when the property in question is a more modern building or in an urban setting without the same pastoral views, there are always nods to its location and surroundings. Many of our owners also offer services such as authentic Italian cooking lessons, wine-tastings and tours of vineyards, and other experiences that bring a real taste of Italy directly to you. So, for a really authentic experience of Italy, then we think you should choose a vacation rental in Italy over a hotel!

Extra Services
Speaking of extra services, there are a whole range of them that can be offered by our owners. While not all of properties have these services, there are plenty that do and it is always an added bonus and just one more reason to choose one of our holiday rentals in Italy. Adding to the hands-on touch and connection to the local area that renting from an Italian owner can offer, many of our owners offer things such as personalised tours of the surrounding area according to your tastes and interests, pre-stocked fridges upon your arrival for your convenience, meals prepared in your rental for you using local ingredients and according to regional tastes by a professional chef, and more. Plus, some owners also offer many of the same services that people go to hotels for including maid services, babysitting, linen changes, et cetra.

Space & Privacy
One of the biggest selling points that separates our vacation rentals in Italy from the experience of staying in a hotel is the extra space and privacy that you can expect to be afforded for the duration of your holiday. Chat late into the night without worrying about bothering neighbours a thin wall away, have different rooms to wander about and do different activities in, and enjoy being able to move about your own private space for your whole vacation.

Communal areas
In fact, this space also means that you can have communal areas with which to spend some quality time with your travel companions while also having places to go and retreat for a while if you need some peace and quiet. Unless you book a whole suite, it would be hard to get this in a hotel and for the harmony and peace of a holiday, this is the only way to go.

Kitchen & dining areas
Even if you aren’t having a chef come over to prepare meals or enjoying a cooking lesson, a benefit of a vacation rental in Italy is that you have your own space in which to cook. Whether you need occasional breaks from the richness of eating out so often on holidays, you’re looking to save money by having some meals at home or you’re the type of travellers who like to cook and dine together, chatting all the while and using incredible local ingredients – a big benefit of a rental over a hotel is having the option to cook and dine at home.

Private pool & Garden
The space of a holiday rental in Italy regularly extends outdoors, offering guests a garden space in which to relax and unwind, work on your tan, dine al fresco, and more. Our apartments in cities don’t always have outdoor spaces (usually being traded for a super-central location in desirable destinations like Florence or Venice or Rome) but many have balconies or terraces. Most of our villas in Italy, meanwhile, do have gardens of varying styles and sizes. Plus, our villas with pools in Italy have an extra bonus to these outdoor spaces: a private pool. You’re not likely to get a pool to yourself at a hotel, now are you?
So, if all of the above sounds good to you then the choice is clear – you’re better off booking a villa in Italy!
