Sardinia boasts some of the most amazing beaches in all of Italy, so those looking for a perfect beach holiday destination should definitely browse our vacation rentals in Sardinia and plan a trip to this magical part of the world. Among all of the gorgeous beaches on this stunning island, the one most often labelled the best and favourite amongst locals is the iconic and picture-perfect Spiaggia della Pelosa.
Spiaggia della Pelosa is around 2km from the village of Stintino on the Capo Falcone and is a 300m stretch of the coast facing north-east. With shallow and crystal clear waters in a magical deep shade of blue, soft white sands, a framing of lush vegetation, views out to Piana (Flat) Island, Asinara Island, and the Asinara Cliffs, and the picturesque 16th century Saracen Torre della Pelosa overlooking it all, it is a scenic gem that encapsulates the beauty of a vacation in Sardinia.
With waters that very gradually get deeper and shading from many of the winds in the area, it is a perfectly family-friendly beach that is also a popular destination for water sports and outdoor pursuits like snorkelling, diving, canoeing, windsurfing, and more. The Asinara Diving Center and the Roccaruja Diving Center both offer diving excursions throughout the surrounding Capo Falcone area and you can rent your surfboards and canoes at the nearby Stintino Windsurfing Center.
Do keep in mind, however, that these cinematic looks and excellent facilities mean that the beach can be very busy during July and August. Those who want to avoid the worst of the crowds should plan their visits for in the early morning or later into the afternoon and evening, though you can still expect plenty of people to be about.
Despite all this Spiaggia La Pelosa is very much worth the hype and an utterly unbelievable looker. Plus, there are lots of other beaches nearby to choose from so, if you love a holiday full of sun and sand and sea and fun then get browsing Italy Villas' wonderful selection of villas in Sardinia and plan your seaside getaway today.
