Villa Oria, pool

Among our property listings, you’ll find plenty of incredible villas in Italy that are luxurious, 5-star gems with all of the bells and whistles you could ask for. You’ll also find historic properties that are well-preserved and lovely and make you feel like royalty or stylish and cool properties with interiors that have been carefully considered and look like something plucked right from the pages of an interior decorating magazine. Then there are the luxury properties that are on a level of their own, that boast truly incredible facilities, and have plush interiors that rival the most elegant hotels in the world. Villa Oria, in Salento, falls into this latter category of our luxury villas in Apulia. A real show-stopper, this seven bedroom (accommodating up to 18 guests), 10 bathroom villa spreads over a whopping 1040 m2 on 4 hectares of surrounding grounds and will set you back between €1310 and €3836 per night.

Villa Oria, entrance staircase

Obviously, Villa Oria is not going to suit a majority of traveller’s budgets but for those who can afford to truly travel in serious luxury and style, or are splitting the costs with a good number of their fellow travellers, this is the perfect base from which to explore Apulia. Or, as it is such an experience in its own right, it is a place where you could easily go, relax and unwind, and never need to step foot outside the property throughout your stay - there is plenty to do right on the grounds of the villa itself!

Villa Oria, living room

In addition to the stunning interiors that boast high ceilings, spacious rooms, lots of big windows and glass doors that lead out onto the veranda that wraps around the building, terraces, and balconies, the house boasts lots of absolute show-stopper rooms. There is an elaborate entrance hall with a sweeping staircase up to the bedrooms on the upper floors, marble floors, thick carpeting up the stairs, rich wallpaper and elegant wood-panelling on the walls, and lots of gilt wall-sconces and hanging light fixtures. This room then opens up onto a double-height living and dining room with plush furnishings, an impressive and massive marble fireplace, beautiful velvet couches and armchairs, many glass doors out onto the surrounding terrace, gleaming marble floors, and an incredible built-in home bar with stools to one end of the room. Another staircase is located in the big living room that gives quick access to the upper floors and there is an elevator in the hallway, which is very convenient for those who are older or anyone who might have mobility issues. There is a second living room in the house, as well, giving guests more options and spaces in which to unwind and the necessary room for a bit more peace and quiet.

Villa Oria, kitchen and veranda

The aforementioned veranda outside that wraps around most of the ground floor of the villa and looks over the gardens, has several pretty little iron tables and chairs dotted around and at which you can enjoy pleasant breakfasts or coffee or even a nice glass of wine in the evenings. Also on the ground floor are the three kitchens, which are well set up and welcoming spaces in which to prepare delicious meals with locally-sourced Apulian ingredients. The most inviting is bright and spacious and is decorated in cream shades, with big glass doorways taking up the majority of two of the walls in the room and opening directly onto the terrace where there is a built-in barbecue area to make use of as well.

Villa Oria, spa

Aside from these normal (if larger and more luxurious) spaces that one might expect to find in a home, Villa Oria actually also has some rather special rooms, all of which are located in the basement, including: a gym with treadmills, a bike, and some other equipment; an in-home spa with hot tubs, massage tables, relaxation areas, a thermal area, a salon space, and a sauna (please note that there is a daily or weekly charge for use of the sauna); a billiard room; and another bar space that is referred to as the, “Rustic Lounge.” Those, therefore, who enjoy lazing about and relaxing or having a few drinks and a laugh with their companions will find that this gem of a villa in Apulia particularly caters to their needs!

Then, of course, there are the bedrooms and the bedroom suites and depending on how these rooms are utilised, the property can actually sleep up to between 14 and 18 guests. On the ground floor, you can find Suite 6 (which can sleep between 2 to 4 people) and Suite 7 (sleeping 2), both of which have direct access out onto the veranda and boast lovely views of the manicured grounds. On the first floor, you will find Suite 2 (sleeping 2, this has access onto a terrace), one bedroom, Junior Suite 4 (sleeping 2, it also has terrace access), as well as Junior Suite 5 (sleeping 2, with terrace access). Then on the second floor, located in the attic, there is the final bedroom, Suite 1, which can sleep between 2 and 4 people and also opens directly onto a terrace.

These gorgeous bedrooms are all decorated beautifully, with colourful wallpaper, unique colour schemes and decorative themes, plush and welcoming furnishings, interesting decorative details throughout giving each space its own character, sitting and relaxing areas, bright marble bathrooms with luxurious finishes, and much more besides. They are the perfect spaces in which to truly relax and unwind and relax and also afford all of the privacy you might require if travelling in a larger group. So, after days of enjoying the company of your fellow travellers, friends, or family, you can shut the door to your sweet and rest comfortably for the evening before hanging out again the next day.

Finally, the last significant part of this property that we have yet to mention in detail is the garden and all of the amazing outdoor spaces. With extensive and well-kept grounds, the gardens of Villa Oria boast lots of incredible features. There are large lawns and neatly trimmed lawns that are perfect for all sorts of sports and entertainment and especially desirable if there are children in the travel party. Dotted across these green lawns are plants and trees and more dense gatherings of trees encircle the property, affording privacy and a lovely lush green backdrop. The pool area of Villa Oria, meanwhile, has to be one of the most impressive aspects of the entire property, with a luxurious rectangular swimming pool with several steps down into the water, lots of loungers and parasols arranged around the pool, and a shaded seating area to one side of the pool. Furthermore, there is a large outdoor shower area under the veranda of the house to allow you to comfortably clean and dry off before coming back into the villa itself.

Villa Oria, outdoor dining area

All of the terraces and verandas have various little seating areas with benches and tables and chairs to sit out and enjoy the garden while reading or sipping a drink but there is also a large and more formal beautiful outdoor dining area. This spot is positioned under a pretty pergola with plants winding up the wooden frame and has a large dining table with wicker chairs that seats up to twelve, allowing either all or almost all of the guests to dine al fresco together.
