In recent weeks Greece and Spain have both notified the public about their plans to safely reopen for the 2021 tourism season this summer. As of this week, Italy, too, has presented her plans to allow tourists to travel into the country from abroad once more.
Many people were in the unfortunate situation last year that they had to cancel, postpone, or forgo their holidays when most in need of a vacation. As such, we have bookings coming in fast for this year and, as of this week, the Italian Prime Minister Draghi confirmed that they will be allowing foreign travellers to enter the country (given certain conditions) from mid-May onwards.

These conditions for travel include either having had an EU-approved Covid-19 vaccine, having recovered from the disease, or having tested negative 48 hours prior to travelling. If this is the case, said travellers will be allowed entry without restrictions and without having to undergo a mandatory quarantine period. This will apply to all except those coming from Brazil, India, or any of Italy's blacklisted countries. Part of Italy's “Green Pass,” program while the EU's equivalent is still being rolled out (which is expected to come into play from mid-June), this will mean that anyone who fits these conditions can officially begin planning their next vacation in Italy from now on.
