What Are The Best Beaches In Sardinia? Meet The Stunning Tuerredda Beach!

Tuerredda Beach
If you are a beach-lover and sun-worshipper then few things would suit better than a vacation rental in Sardinia and a few weeks relaxing on and exploring her perfect beaches. Perfect beaches – crystal clear waters, soft white sands, Mediterranean greenery, the scent of it heavy in the air – are no uncommon thing in Sardinia, as you will quickly discover. However, even among the plethora of excellent choices, there are still some particular beauties and exceptional beaches among them that are worth singling out.

Take Tuerredda Beach, for example, which is considered the “jewel” of the southwestern coastline of Sardinia and one of the ten most beautiful beaches on the island. Located in a cove between Capo Malfatano and Capo Spartivento, in the territory of Teulada, this 500m-long gem looks like a beach from a far more tropical setting with its unreal, deep blue waters and perfectly soft, pale strand, framed by rich green flora.
Sheltered from the Mistral, a north-westerly wind, thanks to its v-shape, which keeps the sea calm and clear, the beach is popular among snorkelers and is one of the best spots for the sport in the area. The surrounding area has lots of little inlets, coves, and rocky patches that make for ideal places to roam in your mask and flippers in search of the interesting sea life that lives in the area. There is also a little island facing the beach that is just a few hundred metres from the shore and is easy to swim out to if you are confident enough in the water. Once you get to this small but pretty island, there is a whole other little world waiting for you to explore.

In addition to snorkelling, there are lots of high-quality services offered by the beach establishments and clubs that are located along the strand. You can rent canoes and pedalo boats, as well as rubber dinghies, and a mobile Flyboard provider is available. You will also see plenty of yachts lined up in the waters of this cove, making the most of the sheltered nature of Tuerredda Beach. As a result, the crowd that you will encounter on the beach can be quite exclusive but the overall atmosphere and demographic is more balanced and less intimidating; don’t worry, you won’t have overly posh eateries and bars to contend with here! You will be able to enjoy the seaside establishments in the area even if you don’t have a yacht of your own parked out in the water!

Of course, all of these activities are all well and good if you want to explore, splash, play, and get some exercise but Tuerredda Beach is also perfect for those who are more interested in doing very little of anything at all and those who would prefer to just lie out on the sand and relax and, maybe, just maybe, go for a little paddle. Swimming out to the little island is an excellent idea if you want to go a step further and get away from the hubbub of this admittedly popular and busy beach. Out on the island, you’ll be able to find a bit more space and sprawl out on one of the smooth rocks surrounding it. However, you should be prepared to contend with crowds, in general, if you are visiting the area any time from June to September and particularly large numbers during July and August. It is considered one of the best beaches in Sardinia and this is reflected in the crowds that it draws each year. If this bothers you overly you can always go earlier in the day, later in the evening or simply find your vacation rental in Sardinia and plan a trip outside of the high season for tourists.

Whatever it takes, it’s worth doing as the incredible Tuerredda Beach is truly one of the best and most beautiful in all of Italy.
