Art and good food and coffee are a given if you have found a luxury villa in Italy and are planning a vacation in the country. However, if you like to combine those things, all at the same time, then a vacation rental in Rome is a good idea as there is somewhere where you can find it all under one roof: the “art restaurant” of Canova Tadolini.
Located on via del Babuino, in the heart of the city, Canova Tadolini is a museum combined with a restaurant and café. On display, all throughout the space, you will find busts, sculptural panels, sculptures and more that were created by the artist family that lived in the house until 1967: the Tadolini family.

In the same building the great Italian neoclassical sculptor, Antonio Canova, once had a studio, which he eventually left to his favourite apprentice and protégé, Adamo Tadolini. Tadolini then lived in and worked from the space and passed it down through his family of fellow sculptors who followed. Today, the space continues to reflect this incredible artistic legacy with works of art, models, and tools all on display in the most extraordinarily artful and elegant neoclassical interior.
Sitting amongst the objects and the sophisticated crowd, that sees a mix of locals, expats, and visitors, is a wonderful experience. The museum is a popular spot for an apertivo such as an Aperol Spritz or Negroni and they are known for their menu of strong Roman classics, such as Spaghetti alla Carbonara. However, no one can or would deny that this eatery is really about the setting and atmosphere, which is incredibly unique and special.
If you are an art lover who is exploring Italy's capital then be sure to swing by for an espresso or an aperitivo and take in this magical restaurant and its amazing art collection for yourself.
