Discover Miró At The Palazzo Chiablese In Turin

Miró
The city of Turin is like a work of art in its own right but it is home to plenty of galleries, museums and palaces stuffed with all sorts of paintings, sculptures and other objets d'art that are worth checking out. However, if you are have found a vacation rental in Piedmont and are planning on visiting Turin in the next couple of months, there is one particular exhibition that we would recommend to you: the current Miró exhibition taking place in the Palazzo Chiablese in the Piazetta Reale.
Composed of over one hundred works of art, mostly large oils, the “Sogno e colore” (“Dream and colour”) exhibition celebrates the last artistic period of the career of this great Catalan painter. Brought together through the generous loaning of works from the likes of the Fundació Pilar y Joan Miró in Majorca, the exhibition includes some incredible masterpieces like "Femme au clair de lune", "Oiseaux" and "Femme dans le rue". It features “four-dimensional painting, scenography, great sculptures and mail art: Miró’s sinuous lines and sharp colours enable breathing in all the energy and power of the Mediterranean Sea” and is an opportunity to really explore the evolution of this great artist.

While Miró is most famous as a surrealist artist, he actually explored, and was a part of, many different movements during his lengthy career; ranging from Dadaism to Surrealism up to Expressionism. If you are planning a trip to Turin before the 14th of January 2018, be sure to take this chance to get to know him and his work better!
