Val Camonica in Lombardy
Lombardy, one of the giant regions of Italy, has a wealth of attractions to offer tourists on their vacation. Situated in Northern Italy and sharing a border with Switzerland, Lombardy is a perfect melody of tall mountain chains that weave through scenic landscapes.

Go hiking through this vast terrain and lose yourself in its beauty. Explore the charming towns and villages scattered across Val Chiavenna or Camonica Valley or go whizzing down the ski slopes of Livigno or Bormio in the cold winter months!

A large section of the flooded plains of the Po lie in Lombardy, where huge rice fields are harvested. Rice is one of the main staples here, along with pasta of course. Try the regional dish of saffron infused rice risotto along with a crisp cold glass of local wine as a satisfying lunch during your time here. Also worth tasting is the salty cured salami of Varzi and the rich soft texture of locally made mascarpone cheese. If you like strong flavours then why not sample the pungent Gorgonzola cheese, produced by a town of the same name in Lombardy.
