The Palace of Caserta
Spend a few days in the stunning city of Caserta, one of the bigger cities in the region of Campania in the south of Italy. This is the perfect place to spend a few days during your Italian holiday to southern Italy as it is home to some breath taking tourist attractions.

The most famous and beautiful sight to behold in Caserta is the magnificent Royal Palace of Caserta. The surrounding park is made up of stunning lakes, waterfalls and ornately designed gardens.

The lavish decor and interior design of the palace is truly mesmerising. It features in famous films like “Star Wars” and “Angels and Demons” It has been awarded as being a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is visited by thousands of tourists every year.

Another truly spectacular sight to behold is another of Luigi’s designs; the majestic Aqueduct of Vanvitelli. This is a perfect example of this master architect’s genius and keen eye for creating beautiful monuments out of practical constructions.

The city of Caserta itself has lots to offer visitors. Why not begin your tour in Piazza Vanvitelli where there is a massive green and in a centre, a statue built in honour of the great man himself! Stroll around the lively markets that take place every day in Piazza Matteotti where you can try samples of delicious local cuisine and admire a wide range of arts and crafts.
