The fantastic Stupinigi Hunting Palace can be found in Northern Italy, just southwest of Turin. It was originally built by order of Victor Amadeus II of Savoy as a hunting lodge. Its design and decorations were actually those of famous architect Filippo Juvarra, who turned it into a genuine representation of a royal palace.
The entire hunting lodge is furnished with period furniture and paintings and there are exhibitions open for the public for a short while to view the amount of work and restoration that has gone into this building, which was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1997. It has been closed to the public since 2006 but is now reopening and you may take a tour around the entire estate if you wish.
So if you are visiting the area of Piedmont, perhaps you will make a trip to see this historic building and it's magnificent gardens. We highly recommend it as something that should not be missed as it provides a unique experience of walking through history.
