The Campania area of Italy is not as well known by its name as it is by what is there. Ask someone if they have ever thought about visiting Campania Italy, they may say no. Ask them if they have ever dreamt of visiting Naples, Pompei, or the birthplace of pizza and spaghetti, and they are much more likely to say yes, as almost everyone had as some point or another. Campania is a whirlwind of things to see and do. This is a historically rich area of the world that holds something for almost everyone. From foodies to history buffs, Campania is a place to find variety and relaxation.

A visit to Naples, Ischia, Capri, or the Amalfi Coast offers three different vacations in one.

Naples is vibrant and exciting. Full of culture and an exciting night life, this may well be the place to start. Then, move on to Ischia or Capri for a taste of the more traditional Italy. Capri also offers a look at some of the most beautiful natural formations around. Visiting Campania Italy is not the same without a visit to The Blue Grotto, a beautiful grotto over 50 meters long and 30 meters wide with amazing deep blue water cause by reflections through nearby rock formations. Do not miss a trip to Pompei, the ancient city eradicated and forever preserved by volcanic ash.

The food in the area is unmatched. A huge part of visiting Campania Italy is sampling the local fare. Where better to have pizza than where it was invented? First created near the end of the 19th century by a Neapolitan cook, authentic pizza is made with San Marzano tomatoes and fiordilatte mozzarella cheese. Other toppings can be added as desired. There is also any number of delectable sea food dishes served up along the coast, and the delicious locally made lemon based liqueur, Limoncello di Sorrento.

The area's many festivals offer an opportunity to get the most out of visiting Campania Italy. The Festa Di Sant' Anna is held in Ischia. Every year on July 26th this even is celebrated with food and a parade of boats and vessels in honor of the Virgin Mary. The boats compete for prizes and prestige. If music is more your style, try the Festivale Musicale de Ravello on the Amalfi Coast. Held in the gardens of the Villa Rufolo, the performances offered by the international orchestras there are a real treat.
