Messina is the third largest city in Sicily and is a bustling place, rich in history and culture and dotted by lots of beautiful buildings. The Punta del Faro, or Capo Peloro, is the northeastern promontory of Sicily and is situated in the province Messina, just northeast of the city and 3km across the water from the Italian mainland. Nestled close to Messina and between the lovely and beloved lakeside town of Ganzirri and Mortelle, the area's most popular summer resort, it is an ideal spot to start out a day with endless possibilities ahead if you have found a vacation rental in Sicily and are looking for adventure.
Punta del Faro: A Perfect Stretch Of The Sicilian Coast For Lazy Summer Days

Capo Peloro is a cluster of charming buildings that stretch out into the sea but it is defined by its distinctive black and white lighthouse and its fort. With records of the area going back to Ancient Rome, it is a historic site but the main draw today is the relaxing seaside atmosphere, pretty setting and peaceful way of life.
Pictures of the place immediately conjure images of lazy summer days spent walking the promenades, dining with sea views and looking for a stretch of the coast to settle down at and get to playing in the water. And astounding sunsets from its position, jutting out into the water as it is, of course. Home to two small lakes between the hills and beaches that are famous for producing the best eels and cockles in Sicily, it promises delicious fresh seafood that has been especially recommended by visitors to the area for millennia.
If you are planning a trip to Sicily and want to spend idyllic days along a pretty coastal town but don't know of any hidden gems, this is definitely one to think about pencilling in to your itinerary...
