Description

Casa Rossa is a suggestive farmhouse of very remote origins. It stands in a very panoramic and peaceful position, overlooking vineyards and olive groves. It can be reached by following an unpaved road (1,5 km) that winds its way through rows of vineyards, and even before you get there you will feel you have been catapulted into another era. The origins of this house are in fact very old and date back at least to 1500, as documented in the register of souls of the parish of Pieve San Giovanni.

The owners, Leone and Giuseppe, have intentionally maintained its rustic, almost medieval appearance in order to preserve its noble origins. The wooden and brick ceilings, the original terracotta floors and the simple and essential furnishings are a rare example of the rural tradition in Tuscany. The farmhouse is particularly suitable for couples or families who love nature and simplicity and want to get away from modern life for a while.
Pets are welcome (extra charge could be required).
You will find yourself facing an incomparable view on summer evenings, sitting by the pool (size 5 x 9 m, depth 1.20 m, private for guests - open from 16 May to 12 September) or dining in the furnished pergola in front of the house.  And if you feel like leaving the quiet of the place for a while, the city of Arezzo is reachable in 15 minutes by car, and throughout the year it offers countless folkloristic and cultural events, including the Giostra del Saracino and the Antique Fair.
For horse lovers, there is a riding school less than 500 m from the house that organises rides through the vineyards and hills. Casa Rossa

Property Summary

Nestled 600 metres above sea level at the foot of the Castello Poggio alla Regina, Borgo Stoppi is a captivating holiday rental set within one of Tuscany's most historically significant hamlets, in the heart of Reggello, Italy. This extraordinary residence carries a rich legacy dating back to the 11th century, when it was originally owned by the counts Guidi. By the 14th century, it had become the principal centre of the medieval district known as "Curia del Castiglione" and served as the agricultural capital of the surrounding mountain area. Today, the ancient houses of this remarkable hamlet have been lovingly restored into 8 individual units, each preserving the timeless character and architectural beauty of the original settlement. The property sits on an expansive 5,000 m2 of land, surrounded by cypress, oak, pine, and chestnut trees that have endured through the centuries, creating a lush and serene natural environment. Guests benefit from a shared swimming pool measuring 6 x 12 metres, with a depth of 150 cm, available seasonally from 22 May to 08 October, with pool opening hours from 08:00 to 21:00. The property is also equipped with Internet WiFi, allowing guests to remain connected throughout their stay. A generous yard envelops the hamlet, offering open green spaces that complement the tranquil atmosphere of this elevated retreat. From the terrace shaded by olive trees, which produce some of the finest and most genuine olive oil of the area, guests can savour a magnificent panorama stretching across the Arno valley and the rolling Chianti hills.

Outdoors

The outdoor spaces at Borgo Stoppi are as impressive as the property's storied past. The shared swimming pool, measuring 6 x 12 metres with a depth of 150 cm, is available to all guests from 22 May to 08 October, with access permitted daily between 08:00 and 21:00. An outdoor shower is also available on the premises, providing a convenient facility for guests returning from the pool or exploring the surrounding grounds. The expansive yard, set across 5,000 m2 of land, is framed by centuries-old cypress, oak, pine, and chestnut trees that create a natural canopy of shade and beauty. Wildlife enthusiasts will delight in the possibility of spotting wild boars, hares, squirrels, pheasants, and owls within the surrounding landscape. The terrace, draped with olive trees that yield some of the area's most prized olive oil, offers a breathtaking vantage point from which to admire the sweeping views of the Arno valley and the Chianti hills, making it an ideal setting for relaxed outdoor dining or quiet contemplation at any time of day.
