Its central position allows guests to immerse themselves in the magical atmosphere of this charming town. Taormina’s evocative lanes and alley ways, with their cafes, restaurants, luxury boutiques and local arts and crafts shops, wind their way through Piazza IX aprile with its clock tower and Piazza Duomo and past magnificent buildings such as Palazzo Corvaja, the Odeon and the Greek amphitheatre with its concerts and performances by world famous artists. Recently renovated, the apartment is well divided and tastefully furnished and offers all modern conveniences. The living-dining room with kitchenette, two bathrooms and two comfortable bedrooms all have white wooden ceilings. The living room leads through large French windows onto a delightful, small terrace with its views over terracotta roofs to the sea. One of the most enduringly famous portrayals of Sicily that has ever graced the silver screen has to be Francis Ford Coppola’s 1972 masterpiece, “The Godfather”, starring Marlon Brando and Al Pacino. This iconic movie is set in 1940s and 1950s Sicily and New York and tells the story of the Corleone family, characters from Mario Puzo’s novel, “The Godfather.” Many tourists have gone in search of filming locations from the movie throughout the years since its release. Many head to Corleone, the town that shares its name with Don Vito Corleone, but it was not actually where the film was shot as when they began making the movie in the 1970s, it had changed drastically in the time since Puzo wrote his novel. Modernised and greatly expanded, it no longer resembled the rural place from the books. The Greeks and Romans closely observed this fiery mountain of Sicily and believed the regular eruptions to be the work of their gods! Standing at 3,350 metres, Etna has the traditional volcanic cone shape and has a massive base circumference of one hundred and forty kilometres.

Good 3^/5 Villa Review Rating Details

Location was perfect. But unfortunatly some facilities in the apartment were not as good as you should expect for this price. We were very dissapointed by the local contact person. Explanaition of the apartment was very poor and not welcoming at all! First day no hot water and no heating because she forgot, no apologies at all, or she did not come to fix it.
And 2 keys would be better, as you cannot leave the house without a key of the central entrance.
