We travelled around Italy for two and a half months this year and Villa Civita 2 was without doubt our favourite apartment anywhere. Perched halfway down the cliff between Ravello and the coast, it is quite a climb back from the beach and a near impossible (in summer) walk to Ravello but who cares when the view is so spectacular? And the bus does stop almost outside the door.
The apartment has a spacious terracotta-tiled veranda with a view all along the coast and across the bay. We ate out there every evening, watching stars begin to twinkle in the pink-mauve sky. When we managed to drag ourselves inside, we found that the bedrooms were big and comfortable, the decor was bright and chic, and the amenities were terrific. There was a toaster and an espresso machine, as well as a great oven, stovetop and dishwasher in the kitchen. And Claudia, our thoughtful tri-lingual host, left us a basket of guidebooks and leaflets with information on everything from restaurant recommendations to ferry timetables.
It's a wonderful apartment and a beautiful part of the world. Thank you Claudia.

The location of the villa was very good and the view over the sea was beautiful. While the two upstairs bedrooms we used were comfortable the water pressure in the adjoining bathrooms was poor and would take a considerable time to heat up. The downstairs bedrooms were very musty despite leaving the doors open to air them. This persisted for the entire week and did not improve. The outdoors area was very nice for eating out but we were plagued by wasps. As we were a group who liked to cook at home quite often the kitchen was very disappointing as it barely accommodated two people. Therefore, I would recommend using the barbecue for preparing most meals. As we rented the villa at the end of the season it would appear that it had been run down during summer and a number of repairs needed to be done, i.e. the window between the living area and outside was cracked from top to bottom, the door on the fridge was broken and had to be kept closed with a wooden block and a number of pieces of outdoor furniture were broken. This was disappointing considering the cost of the villa. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay but compared to the quality of a property rented elsewhere in Italy the following week I felt that more could have been done to make it an even better experience.

My family and I highly recommend the area but mostly the villa, we met great hosts which made us feel at home, great weather and lots of shopping and most of all a lot of food sampling at all the local " sagras" in Abruzzo.

We enjoyed our stay in the appartment. For couples with children the appartment is great. From your own terrace you can keep an eye on your children in the swimmingpool. Also the enviroment is beautiful. Supermarket is nearby and the lakeside as well.

Hi,
I stayed in this department in the fourth week of July 2011. It is good department. The historical places are very near within 10 to 20 minutes walk. However, it has a small kitchen.
