In the last post in this series, we are wrapping up our list of ten of the best things to see and do in Milan. 7. Visit the The Brera Picture Gallery

The Brera Picture Gallery, or Pinacoteca di Brera, is Milan’s main public art gallery is home to a rich collection of artworks that represents over six centuries of European art. Works by the likes of Rubens, Titian, Correggio and Anthony Van Dyck are all housed in what was originally a 14th century monastery that was later redesigned by the renowned architect Giuseppe Piermarini. Surrounded by a picturesque botanic garden, it is a stunning museum in a beautiful setting and a must-see.

Calamosca Beach is the perfect place to spend the day if you have found a vacation rental in the charming city of Cagliari. Utterly picture-perfect, this beach is a short walk from the centre of the capital city of Sardinia and is one of the most lovely on an island famous for its incredible beaches! If you like hanging out on a peaceful, sheltered stretch of coast, playing around in the most unbelievably blue waters, a vibrant nightlife, excellent facilities and taking in amazing scenery, it is ideal.

Positioned and sheltered between two promontories – Capo Sant'Elia and its ancient lighthouse to the east and the Sella del Diavolo (Devil's Saddle) to the west – on the coastline of Poetto, the beach is just 4km from the centre of Cagliari.

The Arcipelago di La Maddalena National Park is a truly stunning geomarine national park on the coast of Sardinia that was established in 1994. Covering an area of over 12,000 hectares and stretching along 180 kilometers of coastline, it is comprised of a group of islands and islets located on the north-east of the coast of Gallura, in the stretch of sea between Sardinia and Corsica known as Bocche di Bonifacio, which is soon to be recognised as an international marine park.

All of these islands are either deserted or are only scattered with small human settlements, beside La Maddalena. As a result, it is an area of natural beauty that has largely been untouched and unaltered by human hands. It is just endless, impossibly blue skies and seas, lush hills and greenery, coves, inlets, and long stretches of pretty beaches. An unforgettable and beautiful place, it is a must-see for anyone who has found a vacation rental in Sardinia.

The Tuscan coast is home to some truly lovely little seaside towns and if the bright and fun Follonica is the Miami of Tuscany, then Punta Ala is a more low-key but equally charming option. Lesser-known and a bit of a hidden gem, Punta Ala is located on a stretch of the coastline between Pisa and the Maremma Natural Park. Expect a marina full of thousands of sailboats and racing yachts, private beach clubs, regattas, excellent restaurants, seaside bars, ultra-bright blue water and air fragranced with pines. If you have found a vacation rental on the Tuscan coast, it is a perfect spot to go and get away from it all.
