If you and group of your loved ones are looking to enjoy a very special experience of a vacation on Lake Como then Villa Gallietta is a dream option. Not only is it positioned directly on the lake and a 5-minute walk from the centre of Como but it is a truly stunning historic property with endless charm, incredible amenities, and truly astonishing curb appeal. Sleeping up to 16 guests across 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, this beautifully restored 18th century luxury villa in Italy is an exclusive gem for those who want the best of the best...

Part of the famous "Seven Sisters of Como," Villa Gallietta was built in 1772 and meticulously restored through a 3-year renovation project that was completed back in 2009. It, therefore, preserves its wonderful and grand historic interiors while boasting modern conveniences such as air-conditioning, an elevator, a full gym, a yoga studio, and high-speed WiFi throughout. Not only is the property filled with stunning frescoes on the walls and ceilings – including works by Andrea Appiani, one of Italy's most famous neo-classical artists – but it was also the subject of a novel written in 1856 by French author Nathalie Comtesse. So, to live in a slice of Italian history and culture for a little while, this is a perfect spot for a fantasy getaway in Italy.

Outside, the estate around the property features an impossibly pretty garden measuring approximately 70 by 20 yards and with 10-foot-high stone walls and hedges all around for maximum privacy. Overlooking the lake, this garden boasts lush lawns and a private swimming pool (which can be heated on request) with sun loungers, plush outdoor furniture for relaxing in the garden, parasols, and more. Direct access to the waterfront is possible by heading through five steps leading from the garden to the boathouse and lake. A back gate also allows guests direct access onto the famous Passeggiata Villa Olmo lakeside promenade. Views over the water can additionally be enjoyed all throughout the house and from the gorgeous, plant-covered pergola where you can enjoy long, lazy meals al fresco. The front of the property, where there is road access also impresses upon arrival with its gorgeous fountain, neat landscaping, space to turn a full circle in vehicles, and secure covered parking facilities.

When you head indoors, you will be wowed once more by the grand, winding staircase leading up through the villa, the formal dining rooms, the pretty sitting rooms, the chandeliers, the works of art, and all of the incredible period details. The main villa accommodates 16 guests with the possibility of 3 additional guests, distributed across 8 bedrooms, while a separate, more rustic apartment sleeps 7 more guests in three bedrooms and they can be rented individually or combined to host up to 23 guests across 11 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms. Contact us if you are interested in the combined option.

The ground floor features the impressive grand foyer with a 20-foot frescoed ceiling and a spiral marble staircase, along with a gym, a yoga and game room, and a reading room. On the first floor you will find the main formal sala spanning 700 square feet with original frescoes and mosaic floors, a casual living room with frescoed and mosaic floors, a formal dining room with renovated frescoes and mosaic floor, a casual dining room with frescoes, a fully equipped kitchen with guest toilet, and a guest bedroom offering either twin or double bed configuration with an en-suite bathroom featuring a shower.

Spread over 1,500 square feet, it features one double bedroom, a bedroom with a French bed, and another with two single beds plus a single bed, 2 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a living room.
