Located 6km (4 miles) from Noto, 39km (24 miles) from Syracuse, and 7km from the sea, Villa Zigulotto – though you might be tempted not to leave at all! – is also perfect for those looking to explore Sicily and to enjoy days out having adventures. However, we wouldn’t really blame you if you mostly just wanted to enjoy the villa and didn’t venture too far very often.
This is especially true as the house has the dreamiest pool set-up with a lovely infinity pool (open for much of the year and can be requested to be opened even outside of this upon booking) to the rear of the villa, taking in the wonderful views over the surrounding area. An outdoor shower and two luxurious sun loungers at each end of the pool ensure that you have everything you need to hand for days playing in the water or stretching out alongside it to work on your tan.
Right by the pool area is the stunning veranda just off the rear of the villa where you will find a pair of plush outdoor sofas and an armchair around a coffee table where you can also relax by the pool in the shade and read a book or watch kids play in the water. On the other side of the veranda is the outdoor dining area with a table that can seat eight guests. The lovely furnishings themselves, the proximity to the pool, the view, and the little extra touches like the lighting and potted plants and artworks dotted about only add to the plush, luxurious feeling.
Inside, the house is equally highly finished and appealing. The veranda doors enter the house through the open plan living and kitchen space where there are high ceilings, beautiful exposed beams, chic sofas and armchairs, and a sleek and modern kitchen that chefs will love. With ample counter space, a breakfast bar, and all of the mod-cons and appliances you could need (dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave, stove top and oven, American coffee machine, washing machine, and iron), it’s the perfect place to make meals together while chatting with fresh Sicilian ingredients.
The bedrooms, meanwhile, are all double rooms and simple, restful spaces with fine bed linens. Each room has its own en suite bathroom as well as direct exits out onto the veranda, allowing the beauty of your surroundings into the villa.
