Among them, however, the large and gorgeous Villa Fabbri is what many dream of when thinking of planning a vacation in Tuscany.
Located 4km (3 miles) from Montebenichi, in the province of Arezzo, and a part of the Tuscan countryside that is characterised by vineyards, historic and crumbling fortifications, and centuries-old trees, Villa Fabbri is an incredibly appealing old stone elegant farmhouse building. With red brick trimmings at the corners of the house and over the arched doorway and windows, a smart terracotta roof topping the villa off prettily, charming stone out-buildings to match, neatly manicured grounds, and leafy surroundings, it is a perfectly picturesque set-up.
Inside, the house has nine bedrooms and nine bathrooms, sleeping up to 22 guests in total. There is also a wealth of charming original details, antiques, and unique touches all throughout the house that are sure to delight and make you feel as though this is a rather special home away from home. Expect high ceilings, impressive gilt and crystal chandeliers, exposed beam ceilings, big fireplaces, draperies around beds, interesting works of art, and a wonderful use of colour – from pops here and there in certain furnishings to pastel-coloured tiles and wonderful stained glass to whole rooms painted cheerful and striking shades.
On the ground floor, you will find the pretty and well-equipped kitchen, where modernity and original features co-exist peacefully in the fireplace, arched brick entrance and heavy old wooden doors, and pretty antique marble and wood dining table living alongside more recent cabinetry and mod-cons including: a dishwasher, two fridges, freezer, microwave, two stove tops, two ovens, toaster, Italian coffee machine, American coffee machine, WIFI, and air conditioning. This room opens onto the impressive dining room with its table seating up to 30, the gorgeous chandelier overhead and sconces about the room, luxurious draperies, big old antique dresser, Grandfather clock, works of art, and exits directly out into the garden.
The stunning living room is also on this floor, with three sofas seating up to seven guests as well as many other armchairs and seats, a big old fireplace, a television, WIFI, and air-conditioning, several more impressive brick arches, and interesting works of art. This floor is then rounded off by two of the bedrooms – a double and one twin room with two single beds – each with en suite bathrooms and air-conditioning.
On the first floor, there are two more double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, one more twin room, and two more double rooms – all of which have air-conditioning. Three additional bathrooms are on this floor.
In the annex in the out-building on the grounds, there is another living room, a bathroom, and a large bedroom with six single beds (and air-conditioning) that is ideal for a group of older kids to hang out together if you are travelling as an extended family or as multiple family friend groups.
The garden is an additional charming space with a large private pool with surrounding sun loungers, a covered area for lounging as well, and an outdoor shower. A lovely covered area to the site of the house with a table for eating al fresco and outdoor furnishings for relaxing takes in views over the pool and the beautiful surrounding landscape.
Finally, the owners of Villa Fabbri also offer additional optional services available at an extra fee including babysitting, pre-stocked fridges, private chef services, cooking lessons in the villa, personalised private tours of the area, and a maid service.
