If you are looking for leafy surroundings, peace and quiet, charming interiors, and easy access to the Italian Riviera then we have the perfect villa in Liguria for you today! Located in the resort of Maro Castello, 3km from the centre of Borgomaro, and 15km from the centre of Imperia, Casa Castagna is a cosy terraced house with lots of personality. In a sunny, elevated position, offering views over a lush valley and green peaks in a residential, traffic-controlled area, this house is far away from tourist crowds, noise, and chaos but is closely connected to the region’s most important and desirable tourist attractions. So, if you’re looking to get away from it all and relax on vacation in Liguria without skipping out on the most appealing parts of the region, Casa Castagna is a perfect option!

Public parking and a bus stop are just outside the door of the house, giving you ample options for exploring the wider area of Ligura with the nearest shops, grocery stores, restaurants, bars, bakery, and café all just 3km away in the utterly picturesque town of Borgomaro. Borgomaro, with its preserved historic centre and abundance of churches, palaces, and other architectural gems is a gorgeous place to explore and spend time while in this part of the world as well as being the nearest town to the property with all of the main amenities that you could need. The gorgeous seaside resort of Imperia, meanwhile, is just 15km away with its beaches, more numerous amenities, and train station, allowing you to access other towns along the Italian Riviera at your ease. However, you don’t even have to go that far to enjoy the natural beauty of Liguria. Walking and hiking paths are located just 20m from Casa Castagna itself and 1km away are the Laghetti di Borgomaro, bathing lakes found in the lush countryside of this unspoiled swathe of the region.

Renovated this year, the delightful 2-storey terraced property of Casa Castagna is best suited to a couple but also can sleep up to four children. With one bedroom and one bathroom, there is also an additional sleeping area with bunk beds cordoned off from the main bedroom in a curtained alcove. The house is cosy but still bright and with ample room, featuring traditional touches alongside mod-cons. Expect exposed-beam ceilings, antique furnishings, interesting works of art, parquet floors, limewashed walls, and lots of soft light from lamps and sconces dotted throughout the house. The result is a rustic charm brought into the 21st century to offer you peace and tranquillity as well as all of the comforts and conveniences that you might need.

The open-plan living/dining room/kitchen has a country-style dining table seating up to four, a wood-burning stove, and a compact little kitchen area with a fridge-freezer, dishwasher, chic retro-style gas stove with an oven and five gas rings, a washing machine, a toaster, a kettle, a blender, and a large dresser with all of the glassware and other kitchen items that you might need. An exit onto the garden allows you to easily bring meals outdoors for al fresco dining. Upstairs, we have the bedroom with a double bed, another stove, and the alcove with the additional sleeping space as well as an exit out onto the balcony, from which you can really admire the incredible views over the surrounding area. The bathroom is the space that has been most clearly recently renovated with a large shower that features a bench and a handheld shower head as well as a waterfall shower head for a really luxurious bathing experience. Outside, there is the small but lovely private garden with deckchairs and a table and chairs, allowing guests to sit out and soak up those remarkable views.
Available between €65 and €127 per night, Casa Castagna still has availability for much of June and August 2024 and is the perfect spot to come for peace and quiet as well as a taste of all that Liguria has to offer.
