Alpine scenes

If you have always wanted to take in the beauty of the Alps for yourself and if you’re dreaming of a holiday in Italy this winter, then we cannot recommend a villa in Aosta highly enough. Not only can you ski at the various resorts in the region and visit some of the most beautiful and famous Christmas markets in Italy if you spend time in this part of the country over the winter period but you also have easy access to Switzerland and the most majestic stretch of the Italian Alps.

In this most northern reach of Italy, bordering France, Switzerland, Monaco, Liechtenstein, Austria, and Slovenia, you will discover a breathtaking tapestry of towering, rugged blue peaks, verdant green valleys, meadows teeming with a diverse array of flora and fauna, picturesque villages perched on high slopes, and rivers meandering down mountainsides in glistening silver ribbons. You'll breathe in the freshest air imaginable, savour the purest, most refreshing water from fountains and natural springs, and be captivated by the most awe-inspiring, jaw-dropping vistas of your life. And in this particular area of the Alps, you will find Mont Brulé.

Located along the Valpelline-Comba d'Oren-rif Nacamuli route, accessible via the A5 motorway, taking the Aosta Est exit, on the path leading to the St. Bernard Tunnel, past the village of Valpelline, and towards Place Moulin, lies Mont Brulé on the Swiss-Italian border. A massive and craggy peak that boasts some of the most amazing views in the entire Alps, its name refers to the swampy southeastern flank that overlooks the marshlands of Lake Places Moulin. Its northern side, meanwhile, is an icy world that leads down to the Haute Arolla Glacier and the southwestern side is where the Brulè Glacier can be found.

Those looking to climb or hike here should note that it is a stunning option and can be undertaken in around 6 hours (depending on the specific route that you choose). However, some approaches are quite difficult and even the most recommended trails can be a challenge. Researching the details of the hike before undertaking it is suggested as is some prior experience.

While it may not be the peak with the greatest name value in the Alps, it is pretty readily accessed most of the time and rewards visitors with utterly breathtaking vistas over this magical part of the world. For adventurers who book a vacation rental in Aosta who are out to capture some perfect Alpine scenes during their time in Italy, it is an ideal day-trip spot to hike, photograph, and wonder at the grandeur of nature.
