1. Chianti

Montepulciano is another famous and familiar wine area in Siena. A pretty medieval hilltop town, they are best known for their Vino Nobile di Montepulciano red wine. A wine once greatly favoured by Tuscan nobility, this rich and delicious variety has a great reputation and the town makes for a truly idyllic place to sample some excellent vintages while admiring your surroundings.
