Planning a vacation in Italy over the next couple of months? Then you should take note of the latest COVID-19 restrictions and requirements in Italy...
Those who have been considering a winter getaway in Italy to go skiing or an early spring trip to enjoy the on-set of the landscape of Italy turning green and beginning to start blooming once again should be aware that some new COVID-19 restrictions are now in place across the country. Put into effect on the 10th of January 2022 and likely to remain in place until at least the 31st of March 2022, if not longer, these new requirements mean that anyone over the age of 12 will need a so-called, “super green pass,” to make use of a wide range of different kinds of facilities, attractions, and venues around the country.
This super green pass can only be obtained with a certified vaccination or proof of recovery from COVID-19 rather than the green passes previously, which could be given to those who had a negative test before travel. It is required in order to access all restaurants and bars (for outdoor as well as indoor dining, including in hotels), all public transport, hotels, ski lifts, all indoor and outdoor swimming pools, wellness centres, gyms, all indoor and outdoor spas and thermal baths (except for “essential rehabilitation or therapeutic treatments”), museums, exhibitions, cultural venues, libraries, celebrations of religious or civil ceremonies (including weddings), fairs, festivals, conventions, conferences, theme parks, games rooms, betting rooms, bingo halls, and casinos.
As a result, those looking to holiday in Italy will have to ensure that everyone in their party, including teenagers, meets the requirements of the new super green pass if they want to be able to do almost anything during their trip. If you meet the requirements, however, you should be free to hit the slopes this winter and enjoy the beautiful lush scenery of Italy this spring without a problem!
