Trullo Petrelli, Ceglie Messapica
While this property can sleep up to six people, it is also ideally suited to two as it is a particularly romantic and charming typical trullo (traditional stone houses of the region built with corbelled roofs) of Apulia. A romantic getaway at this romantically named villa, therefore, means gorgeous views, days of sun and sea, and the convenience of being right in the town and near anything you might need.

Another bright, welcoming, and incredibly pretty and charming little Apulian villa, La Torretta is a one bedroom property that is located in Ostuni and is another typical building of the area called a lamia. Boasting a hot tub and al fresco dining areas on the covered patio next to the entrance of the property, this villa has a large garden with manicured areas of greenery and planting and looks out over peaceful fields and olive groves that surround.
Inside, the villa boasts high ceilings, lots of light, simple and comfortable but elegant furnishings, and traditional details. Located 2km from the town of San Michele Salentino and 16km from Ostuni, this pretty gem is built on grounds that have three other properties, all of which share a main entrance. Despite sharing this entrance and being built near other properties, L’Alcova, like its neighbours, has private external spaces and readily offers peace and tranquillity uninterrupted by the comings and goings of others.

It is a place where you’ll want to spend plenty of time together, enjoying the sun and the lovely surroundings and each other’s company. Trees of all sorts surround the villa, affording nice little patches of shade for the hotter parts of the day, and there are all sorts of potted cacti, plants, and flowers dotted throughout the space, making it even more appealing and relaxing. Sun beds, a hammock, a swing hanging from one of the trees in the garden, various little seats and areas for dining al fresco, a brilliant built-in barbecue, and an outdoor shower all give you various options and ways for enjoying the lovely outdoor spaces of L’Alcova throughout the duration of your stay.

The villa itself is comprised of a relaxing and airy open plan living room with a fireplace, dining table, entrance out onto the veranda and outdoor dining area, air-conditioning and a cute but functional little kitchen area. The bedroom then, is off this space and is located in the more traditional part of the trullo structure. A cosy space, it boasts the charming and characteristic exposed stone walls of trulli with lots of small windows that have helped keep these buildings cooler during the summer months for generations.
