Sands of Spiaggia La Pelosa
Sardinia is famous for her beaches and for good reason. It is an astoundingly beautiful place with an astounding number of truly incredible beaches to choose from. So, if you are looking for your next beach holiday destination, why not browse our vacation rentals in Sardinia?

Among all of those excellent beaches, if you ask locals about their favourites, most are likely to mention Spiaggia della Pelosa. Boasting shallow, crystal clear azure waters that are perfect for kids to splash around in safely and for snorkelling, soft white sands made for leisurely wanders along the strand, and lush and diverse coastal vegetation, it is an ideal oasis and one of the most picture-perfect beaches in all of Europe.
Spiaggia La Pelosa
Located 2km from the village of Stintino on the Capo Falcone, in the province of Sassari, the 300m long beach faces north-east and takes in an astounding panorama that includes views out across the picturesque Piana (Flat) Island and to Asinara Island and the majestic Asinara Cliffs, across the islet to one side that is topped by the 16th century Saracen Torre della Pelosa or Torre del Falcone (Tower of the Falcon) watchtower, over boats with colourful sails bobbing in the near distance, and much more besides. Scenic and lovely, it is the ideal place to just watch the world go by and soak in all of the beauty of this part of Italy.

The aforementioned transparent seabed that is just ankle-deep for tens of metres out into the water and the natural barrier around the area that can tame even the strongest gusts of the north-westerly mistral wind means that this spot along the Sardinian Coast is a popular area for families and for water sports and activities such as snorkelling, diving, canoeing, windsurfing, and more. There are two diving centres in the area to choose from, the Asinara Diving Center and the Roccaruja Diving Center, both of which offer diving excursions throughout the surrounding Capo Falcone area, and you can rent your surfboards and canoes at the nearby Stintino Windsurfing Center.
With lots to see and do and also the perfect, quasi-tropical setting in which to do absolutely nothing at all, a deserved reputation as one of the best and most beautiful beaches in Europe, and a Caribbean-like appearance and experience that comes at a fraction of the cost of a holiday in the Caribbean, Spiaggia La Pelosa is, understandably, extremely popular among tourists who come to Sardinia. As such, it becomes very crowded during the peak season. If you’re not a fan of competing for space, then you may want to avoid the area in July and August as the reputation of Spiaggia La Pelosa very much precedes it. However, visits in the early morning or later into the afternoon and evening may yield less numbers if you are still planning on holidaying during the high season.

Boasting amazing scenery and a perfect setting, colours taken from a film set in a tropical paradise, clear waters and soft sands, lots of perfect spots for photo opportunities, and a variety of different sports and activities to engage in in the surrounding area, Spiaggia La Pelosa really is worth the hype and something quite special indeed. However, you’ll never be short on wonderful beaches to choose from if you find a vacation rental in Sardinia and come explore this exceptionally beautiful island in Italy. So, get planning your trip today and then all you will have to worry about is remembering the SPF and figuring out what you are going try first when you get to the stunning Spiaggia La Pelosa.
