Levanzo
Levanzo, as we have noted in the last post, is an island off the coast of Sicily where you won't find endless tourist attractions but, instead, an incredibly charming and beautiful slice of paradise. A former agricultural settlement that is now home to just 200 people, it is a sleepy and peaceful place that boasts crystal-clear waters, an amazing cave full of prehistoric paintings, a single (but very pretty) village, and astounding views. It makes for the perfect day trip location if you are exploring the area. Just find a vacation rental in Sicily and come explore it for yourself - you're sure to fall in love.

After checking out the town and the Grotta del Genovese, if you still feel like exploring, the whole island is a treat for hikers and casual walkers alike as the island is small and none of the walks are especially demanding.
You can cross the high plateau and hills as far as the lighthouse on the island's northern tip, stroll along the coast from Levanzo village, head through little patches of woodland and the picturesque rocky shoreline to Cala Minnola, or head from the village out to Faraglione, a rock stack in the sea.
Picnic spots are dotted around the island, Faraglione is home to an abundance of marine life and those who take the route out to Cala Minnola will find a popular little cave, beloved of those looking to have a dip in the water or lay out and sunbathe. With incredible scenery, impossibly blue waters with schools of fish darting around, and the most peaceful atmosphere, Levanzo is a little slice of paradise.

Thinking of planning a trip during your time in Sicily? Well, then bear in mind that the opening hours of the few eateries and shops on the island can be tricky and, maybe, pack some food and drinks to bring with you. Being hungry and grumpy is never conducive to a fun holiday!

Only about twenty minutes by hydrofoil from Trapani, it is relatively easy to get to Levanzo and well worth the trip so what are you waiting for?
