Montefugoni
You begin researching a vacation, decide on a destination and then start looking for the perfect holiday rental. Once you've found some good options, it can be hard to narrow them down but one thing that really helps are reviews. Hearing what real people have to say about something helps give us peace of mind and, luckily, here at Italy Villas, we have been blessed with lots of customers who give us great feedback. Therefore, we thought that it would be a good idea to put together a list of our most-reviewed properties to show some of the excellent villas and experiences you can expect when you book with us!

1. Montegufoni

Montegufoni is a wonderful castle dating back to the 12th century that was restored in the 17th century by the Acciaioli family, who added its distinctive and impressive tower that was modelled after the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence. Part of a large estate that is comprised of gardens, vineyards and olive trees in the heart of the Chianti region, it is located 1km away from the small village of Montagnana and 20km from Florence.

The castle and outer buildings are now divided into 39 charming holiday apartments and, as a result it is popular for weddings, being able to accommodate the whole party. However, it is also lovely destination for families and smaller groups, who can merely book a single apartment and enjoy the on-site facilities such as the restaurant. (Note: If you are looking for absolute peace and quiet, be sure to ask before booking as wedding groups can be louder and disruptive for people with small children.) Historic, charming and pretty, this property is beloved by wedding goers and regular guests alike such as Rich S from Langley in Canada, who had this to say: “Better than expected. The people managing this location were excellent with all the assistance you could ever require. Their maintenance man even rescued a valued ring that slipped off a finger and went down the drain, by taking apart the drain to retrieve it. The food in the restaurant is exactly what you would expect from a restaurant in this area. We ate at many local places and all were top notch. Our room (La Grotta) was even more spectacular than expected. Not only would I recommend this place, but I have since convinced some friends to stay here and also in the area since our experience was more than expected.”
Villa Fabbroni
2. Villa Fabbroni - Fattoria San Polo

Our second most reviewed property is this beautiful 13th century villa, which is located in a panoramic spot among the verdant Chianti hills. Carefully and faithfully restored, this historic building has been divided into 7 comfortable apartments, all furnished in typical Tuscan style. The large garden surrounds the whole property and there is a swimming pool with incredible views over the surrounding forestry. Each apartment boasts a private entrance and outdoors space and there is an onsite restaurant, open during the weekend. Another charming historic property, people also give it rave reviews. “We could not have had a better experience, Stefano and Sergio (and Lucco) are treasures. The accommodations are sensational. The service, camaraderie, and ambiance are miles above sensational. Our hope is to go back in the future. Just don't tell too many people (save some future dates for us)” says John S from Campbellford in the United States.

These are but two of our most beloved properties, be sure to read on for more of our most-reviewed rentals in Italy!
